William Nelson Cromwell (1854-1948) was a distinguished corporate lawyer, co-founder of the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, and champion of America’s development of the Panama Canal.
Throughout his life Mr. Cromwell retained a deep interest in the welfare and improvement of the legal profession and legal education.
He established the William Nelson Cromwell Foundation to support research in American legal history.
